I just got an email from Entrecard. It looks like they hate the idea of people making a lot of credits with quick drop pages.

Here’s the email:

——————————
Greetings,

This message is to inform you that effective July 1, 2008, Entrecard will be purging from its system the accounts of all members currently operating “Quick Drop Pages”. We have assembled a massive list of all quick drop pages, and starting on the above mentioned date, we are going to go through the entire list and close the accounts of all the owners.

To avoid having your account with Entrecard permanently removed, you must take down your quick drop page before July 1. If we open a quick drop page with your widget on it, your account will be removed from Entrecard without warning.

What is a Quick Drop Page?
Here is an example:
http://entrecard.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/screenhunter_02-jun-26-1736.gif
Quick drop pages are single pages with your Entrecard widget, made to load quickly and display your widget and not much else. Many quick drop pages have just a widget, and maybe an ad or some other type of widget. If you have a quick drop page, you must take it down immediately.

Why are Quick Drop Pages bad?
Quick drop pages devalue our network as a whole, by motivating members to drop on the same, quick loading pages, en masse to gain credits quickly and efficiently. Their traffic is going to these quick drop pages instead of being dispersed among quality blogs. It goes against the spirit of Entrecard, and is essentially a scheme to gain credits quickly.

How will you find them?
Luckily for us, people running “quick drop”, or “powerdrop” pages have listed themselves all over the internet, and we’ve amassed a list that we believe includes every power drop page in existence. Additionally, members dropping on “quick drop pages” may start receiving stiff credit penalties for every drop they do on quick drop pages, as it is not a visit to a blog and thus an illegal drop.

For more info see our blog:
http://entrecard.com/blog/?p=399
——————————

Looks like you’ll have to delete your quick drop page if you have one. If you don’t … then earnings entrecard credits will be much harder.
Anyway, Entrecard is a good way to get targeted traffic to your blog. I suggest you continue using it.

I just checked the estimated values that my blogs have. And because I am really bored I checked them in 2 places:

dnScoop

Business Opportunities

And I ended up with:
dnScoop
The estimated value of http://savasplace.com is: $9,328
The estimated value of http://www.babydoll.ws is: $1,421
The estimated value of http://www.pantherkut.com is: $6,148
Sava dot name: Can’t Verify Age of Domain. We are not able to check/ verify the age of some international TLDs at this time.

Business Opportunities
Your blog, savasplace.com, is worth $10,726.26
Your blog, babydoll.ws, is worth $7,339.02
Your blog, pantherkut.com, is worth $4,516.32
Your blog, sava.name, is worth $42,905.04

It’s a lot of cash. I’m aware that these values are higher than they should be, but it’s good for my moral.

How much are your blogs worth ?

A great traffic source is out on the internet. It’s not that new so you probably already heard about Entrecard.

What I like about it is that you can advertise your blog on other blogs that match your category.
Here are some tips to increase your traffic and subscribers to.

Why do I say subscribers to ? If people are subscribed at the blog you advertise on there is a high chance they will like your blog to and subscribe.

First of all you need to sign up at Entrecard.
After you added your blog and the widget on your blog you need to get some ec’s (entrecard points).
For that you need to visit blogs and drop a click on their widget. You will get 1 ec for 1 drop and it takes time to gather a decent amount of ec’s.

This is where Firefox can do much help.

Go to your Firefox preferences on the content tab and uncheck Load images automatically.

And make sure you add an exception for http://entrecard.com. This will load the websites very quick, without any images but the entrecard widget will be shown because you added the exception.

Now that you are ready to “power drop” navigate to Campaign, go to the category your blog is in, drop on as many blogs as you can and use the credits to advertise on them.

If you have anymore tips concerning Entrecard and wanna share add a comment.

You probably use Google everyday to search for stuff on the internet. Maybe some of you didn’t know that you can let Google know about the recent changes you made on your blog.

Well … using Google Webmaster Tools you can do that.
After you login with your Google account you have the possibility to add every website (blog) you have.
Adding the website will require validation from your side either by uploading a html page or by entering a meta tag in your header.

Great … so you did that. It’s time to let Google know about every page of your website. I recommend 2 ways of creating sitemaps for your website or blog.

1. Using AuditMyPC’s Sitemap Generator

This free and easy to use site map builder is fast, efficient and allows you to build sitemaps that can instantly be submitted to Google. The only requirement is a popular browser that supports java, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and others.
Create your sitemap using AuditMyPC’s Sitemap Generator

2. Using the Google Sitemap Generator Plugin for Wordpress

This plugin generates a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog. This format is supported by Ask.com, Google, YAHOO and MSN Search.
I’ve mentioned this plugin in this post: Stuff to make your wordpress blog sticky. Make sure you read this as well.
More information on the plugin and download

Now that the sitemap is generated all you have to do is to go to your Google Webmaster Tools account and submit the URL to your sitemap. I keep my sitemap named sitemap.xml so I have to add http://www.sava.name/sitemap.xml.

Please take note that indexing takes time and you won’t see any statistics for at least a few days in your Google Webmasters account.

Important things to check

Top search queries – view all the keywords your blog is shown up in Google’s results. You will also be able to view the position your blog is shown for each keyword.

Index stats – View the number of pages Google has already indexed from your blog as well as all the pages that link back to your blog. You can also view your cached page, the information Google has about your blog and related websites.

Pages with external links – you will see all the pages Google found that have a link to your blog. This counts on determining your Google Page Rank.

Sitelinks – if you have different areas on your blog or website like a gallery, a forum and other things you have a high chance of showing Google Site Links next to your blog in the search results.
Check out Yahoo’s sitelinks on Google to see exactly.

Hope this helps you improve your experience with Google Webmaster Tools.
